Opportunities for Volunteers and Student Interns include:

Client Advocate

  • Provide counseling to victims of domestic violence (adults and children).
  • Assist in transporting clients to appointments.
  • Participate in crisis-intervention (on-call responsibilities).
  • Client accompaniment to Family and Criminal Court appointments.
  • Client accompaniment to Law Enforcement agencies and criminal justice agencies.

Community Education

  • Assist in preparation and implementation of educational presentations.
  • Community functions: awareness booths, health fairs, career fairs, etc.
  • Distribution of agency brochures and posters throughout St. Lawrence County.
  • Organization of educational materials for the agency.

Non-Residential and Residential Services

  • Provide emotional support to residential and non-residential clients.
  • Transport clients to safe dwelling.
  • Provide childcare.
  • Assist with preparation of the Children/Youth Group ad Renewal House.
  • Provide office coverage, answer hotline, greet clients, organize files, and other basic office procedures and projects.
  • Help organize fund raising events and the collection of donations.
