Be Sure - That Renewal House is really where you want to volunteer, that assisting victims of domestic violence is one of your goals.

Be Convinced - Don't offer your services unless you believe in the value of what you are doing.

Speak Up - Ask about the things you don't understand.

Be Willing to Learn - Training is essential to any job well done.

Keep on Learning - Know all you can about your agency and your job.

Welcome Supervision - You will do a better job and enjoy it more if you are doing what is expected of you.

Be Dependable - If for whatever reason, you are unable to fulfill agreed upon duties, attempt to contact us in time to find a  replacement.  People are depending on you.

Be a Team Player - Find a place for yourself on the team.

All volunteers will be trained through a comprehensive training program.  This training is mandatory.

Volunteers must sign a “confidentiality” statement.  You are required to hold in confidence all names and information you learned through your work.  This includes names and situations of clients, staff, or volunteers, location of safe house, etc…

As a volunteer, you are responsible for keeping a log of your hours and of any mileage that you do for the agency.
